Dr. Hashim Raza obtained his MBBS degree (MD) from Punjab Medical College, Pakistan in 1987. Dr. Raza practiced as an Ophthalmologist before immigrating to USA in 1995. Dr. Raza completed his Psychiatry Residency Training in ACGME approved program from New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York. Dr. Raza served as an Assistant Director and Assistant Professor at Synergy Medical Education Alliance, Saginaw and Michigan State University respectively. Dr. Raza is currently serving our respected veterans as a Staff Tele-Psychiatrist in Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan. Dr. Raza also contracts with Macomb County Community Mental Health to treat SMI (severely mentally ill) patients. Dr. Raza has given several lectures in grand rounds on varied psychiatry subjects to doctors, medical students, nurse practitioners and has trained many Resident Psychiatrists at Wayne State University Psychiatry Residency Program. His areas of interest are Psycho-pharmacology & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in adults, children and geriatric population. Dr. Raza is well versed in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. His hobbies include photography, poetry and movie making.
